Shadow Work and Mind-Body Wellness
Manage episode 446224764 series 1507570
Have you ever fallen ill or had someone close to you get diagnosed with an illness and wonder if there is some psychological element to it? Those who follow personal and spiritual growth paths often blame themselves for “attracting” their illness or think of it as some gift or lesson that they needed to learn.
So, how can you deal with illness, body wellness from a psychospiritual perspective? Can you consciously return your body to optimal health through shadow work?
Over the years, some of our clients had some health issues and the process of shadow work has helped them deal with the emotional and physical discomforts of what their body was going through at the time. Working with their emotions, active imagination and being willing to access their inner wisdom they felt more empowered. In fact, many of our graduates take the extra step of our advanced Mind-Body Coaching specialty training to work in that specific niche when they experience the breakthroughs in their own wellness.
In this week’s Soul Sessions by CreativeMind, Shadow Work and Mind-Body Coaching, Debra and Dr. Rob Maldonado explore how our mind and body are interconnected and how this relationship impacts our overall well-being. Drawing from Jungian psychology and Eastern philosophy, they discuss:
- Misinterpretations of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras from a Western materialistic perspective.
- The concept of "Maya" and how our perceptions create our reality.
- The impact of negative thinking and emotional pain on physical health.
- Mind and body as part of singular consciousness
- How illnesses might arise from unconscious patterns influenced by personal history and environment.
We also touch on practical aspects of optimizing health:
- Importance of food, breathing, and sleep.
- Managing stress and the effects of a sedentary lifestyle.
- How illness can prompt personal growth and self-awareness.
- Integrating Eastern philosophical concepts with modern Western medicine for holistic health.
