We all have childhood trauma of some kind. Even if it wasn't trauma with a capital T, we each had needs which weren't met which can be subconsciously driving us to unhealthy patterns and behaviours. Although these behaviours may have served to keep us safe at some point, they may be sabotaging our adult lives and drawing us into unhealthy dynamics which are difficult to understand and break free from.
In this episode with Susan Gold, life coach, author and all around beautiful person, Susan shares her story about growing up with difficult family dynamics and how it affected her life. She shares the power of subconscious patterns that can influence who we connect with and how we go through life, and the ways she shifted hers in order to find her peace, her purpose and even soul filling love.
In the episode we cover:

  • How to heal after growing up with dysfunctional family dynamics
  • Why we keep playing out our roles we had in childhood and how they can create disfunction later in life
  • How your biggest lessons can become your greatest gurus
  • When we push down trauma it stays with us until we choose to heal it
  • How our trauma guides us to certain unhealthy dynamics in relationships
  • How empaths feel deeply and where that can cause issues in relationships
  • Why the universe provides a rock bottom and how it's actually an opportunity for an awakening, not a punishment
  • Why sometimes the wakeup calls can be really hard to see
  • Why embracing your trauma is the way to evolve through it
  • How we can shift out of victim into appreciation
  • A simple way to bring yourself back to the present moment

It can be hard to be honest with ourselves about our hurt and trauma. But through intentional and compassionate honesty, we have the opportunity to transmute our greatest pain into healing and so much more.
