On today's episode of Yours Mentally we talk about Online Therapy and Support Groups. This episode is in conversation with Diya Khatri who is an M.A in Psychology with a clinical specialisation.
We begin the episode by talking about the restrictions one faces when it comes to conducting therapy online.
We then go on to to talk about what new skills were psychologists required to equip themselves with in order to conduct therapy online.
Aman also asks Diya that would she have liked a life where the pandemic hadn't happened and therapy was not online and it was in person.
We then discuss what support groups are and what difference is there in the effect therapy alone and support groups have?
We then go on to talk about what are the different kinds of support groups that exist and can support groups be the primary source of treatment for a person or does it supplement other forms of therapy?
We also talk about how online support group sessions work and who moderates the conversations?
Lastly, we discuss as to how therapists understand body language and truly connect with their clients online?
