As women, as moms, we are in a process, and we are continuously learning—no matter your age and no matter the age of your children. That is what today’s guest wants to dive deeper into in this episode. Ruby Moseley is a historical fiction author, mental health advocate, and blogger who shares with us her experiences as a young mom and her struggles as a SAHM.
We also talked about moms' mistakes and how we hold on to that no matter how we try not to. If you’re a struggling mom or you are in a dark place right now, know that you are not alone. We are all here for you. Reach out to another mom, or reach out to Ruby or me. Just please, ask for help.
Who is Ruby Moseley?
She started her family young, so it wasn’t college-right-out-of-high-school for her. When she met her current husband, Bob, he had two children, ‘his,’ and Ruby had two, ‘hers.’ The four children tagged along with them down the aisle when they married! Then, before long, they’d added theirs,’ their fifth child and then ‘theirs,’ our grandson, who’s the same as their sixth child.
While being a stay-at-home mom/domestic engineer, she began part-time studies at the University of Texas at El Paso. Eventually, she earned a BA through a University of Alabama distance program.
She wrote nonfiction articles for local magazines. While writing online content for blogs and her own blog (www.unaskdforadvice.com), she became fascinated with researching her family history, which inspired her to write her debut historical fiction novel, Etch of a Promise, Book One of Sawdust Legacy series.
She and her husband enjoy traveling, and they’ve been to Costa Rica, Mexico, and Canada. They live in Central Texas, where they thrive with their two golden retrievers. She tries to keep up with her children and their growing families when she's not writing.
