“In some ways, siblings…are more influential in your childhood than your parents.” Deborah Tannen Much has been written about the impact of parents on the development of a human being. The relationship of a sibling has just as much impact on us at both the conscious and unconscious level. The episode will share research that shows how a child’s sensory perceptions of their siblings occurs as early and as often as one of the parental relationship. Also the research will highlight that the strength of the sibling relationship will generate many benefits related to health and well-being, resiliency, fulfillment, happiness, etc. The Dudes of Disruption podcast will explore one of the most relationships in a person’s life – the relationship with their sibling. The disruption here is to reconsider and reconnect with this critical relationship in new ways – that through this relationship, regardless of where you are in relation to your sibling, you can learn so much about yourself inside of that relationship. And those learnings can be mapped to every other relationship you have both at home and in your professional life.
