Hello! It's Gen, and I'd love to hear from you. Click here & send me a text :)

This past year has been one of the most challenging of my life. Since losing my dear friend Sarah, I’ve been on a journey of grief that’s shown up in ways I never could’ve anticipated. In today’s episode, I’ll be sharing what this past year has looked like—the highs, the lows, and everything in between. This episode is about the lessons I’ve learned on navigating loss, and the steps I’ve taken to stay sober through it all.

I’ll talk about how grief has appeared unexpectedly, not just in the big moments like holidays but in the small, everyday routines that reminded me of Sarah. I’ll open up about how I’ve leaned on my support network, including my sober supports and professional help, to stay grounded and keep moving forward. I’ll also share some of the health struggles I’ve faced over the year and how, as the weight of grief began to lift, so did some of those physical challenges.

You’ll hear about the importance of a close family circle during this time and how I walked my children through grief while processing my own. And in the midst of it all, we even formed some new friendships, which brought a fresh sense of connection and hope into our lives.

This episode is a vulnerable one, but I believe that by sharing this experience, we can remind each other that it’s okay to lean on others, to feel our feelings fully, and to find light even in the hardest times. Whether you’re in the midst of your own grief, navigating sobriety, or just here to listen, I hope this conversation can offer you a sense of connection and strength on your own path.
