In this episode, I'm chatting with Krissy Pozatek, MSW, an Author and Parent Coach. After more than a decade as a wilderness and adolescent therapist, Krissy identified the concepts and skills kids gain in the wilderness and integrated them into everyday parenting so kids can be more adaptable and resilient in the home.
She is the author of Brave Parenting: A Buddhist-Inspired Guide to Raising Emotionally Resilient Children, The Parallel Process: Growing Alongside Your Adolescent or Young Adult Child in Treatment, and Brave Teaching.
In this episode you'll learn:
  • How our capacity to be with our emotions shows up in our ability to be with our kids feelings
  • Enmeshment between parents and children and our desire to be liked by our kids
  • The difference between being your child’s best friend and creating a foundation of secure attachment
  • Emotionally healthy vs happy kids
  • Saying yes to your child’s feelings while also saying no to the behavior that might come with it

A radical mother is a woman poised in her power ready to disrupt cycles of generational trauma running through her family like wildfire. She's working to improve her life, the lives of her children, and shape the landscape of her community. If that's you - you're in the right place.
This podcast is designed to connect you with resources, inspiration, and the reminder that you are not alone as you embark on your journey of radical mothering.
I’m your host Christa Bevan and I’m a nervous system educator for cycle breaker moms as well as a certified TRE (trauma releasing exercises) provider, and a trauma-informed yoga instructor. And of course, a fellow Radical Mother. My approach to this work blends neuroscience backed tools and heart-centered intuition.
