In this episode of STAY FEARLESS, we dive into earning respect and creating a winning culture with Jeremy Kennedy. Coach Kennedy played college baseball at Barton County Community College and Dallas Baptist University before beginning his coaching career as an assistant at Dallas Baptist, where he helped the program transition from NCAA Division II to Division I and coached 2016 MLB World Series MVP Ben Zobrist. He then spent seven years at Northwood University in Texas, where he led his program to three conference titles, earning coach of the year honors in each of those seasons. He then spent 3 years at Keiser University and led Keiser to 40-win seasons in each of his 3 years, being named the conference's coach of the year twice while claiming 3 conference championships and 1 NAIA World Series appearance. He is now the head coach at Loyola University New Orleans, one of the top NAIA baseball programs in the country. He led Loyola to a historic program turnaround when he arrived in 2020. He is an exceptional coach and person and Alex was blessed to have played for him during his time at Loyola. In this episode, Coach Kennedy details the three pillars to creating a winning culture: individual player development, acquiring the right guys with high-level talent, and creating a culture of earning respect. He talks about some of the key traits that great players possess, including self-motivation and resilience. He also speaks about many of the things he has learned along his journey, ways he is adapting his coaching philosophy, and new things he is doing to maximize his players’ development both as baseball players and as men.
