The Best of MBM: The Vietnam War and Tet Offensive - The Impact of PTSD with Steve Cox
Manage episode 432995243 series 3546450
In this summer's "The Best of MBM" we replay our episode on PTSD from November 2023. We honor our very good friend (Greg's "American Dad"), veteran of two tours of Vietnam, Steve Cox from Alabama who passed away in March of 2024. We will miss you Steve!
Co-host Greg Rennie talked to Steve about about his experience in the Vietnam war, the Tet Offensive and its impact on his life. Steve was diagnosed with alcoholism, drug addiction and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder at a time that trauma from war was just being studied and understood. He hopes that his story influences military veterans returning from recent wars to ask Veteran's Affairs for help for trauma and to consider AA support regarding the common pairing of PTSD and alcohol and drug addiction.
