Did you ever ask yourself what is the definition of insanity? When did realize that you can't change others but you can change yourself? Did you ask yourself do you want to be a victim of your history or a master of your destiny?
In this week's episode, Melissa and Monica have the opportunity to talk to Laura Khalil. Laura is the CEO and owner of A Brave by Design. Brave by Design is a business that advocates for female entrepreneurs for financial justice. Laura shares her journey when she started in Silicon Valley in a male-dominated industry. Laura shares that over time working in her industry she asked herself what the definition of insanity was as she kept getting the same results. Professionally she continued to go from job to job expecting that each job would be better. She finally realized that she could not change others but instead change herself. With great clarity, she found she was not the problem, instead, it was her situation that was the problem. Through pain and acceptance, she listened to her truth and wanted to own her own business.
Initially, she felt isolated because talking about finances brought on feelings of shame and avoidance. As she continued to listen to her whisper (more like roar) Laura began working with women and women-owned businesses. She knew that their worth was immeasurable. Be prepared to feel empowered and ignited by Laura and her journey to finding her truth in a male-dominated industry. In addition to her truth, she realized her courage and strength while being willing to rise above and face challenges and adversity.
