When it comes to mental health, the music industry is often overlooked and is a field that is underfunded, over competitive and over saturated, which can have a real impact on artists mental health and the way they view their work. UNMASKED by Mad Millennials, is about removing the ‘masks’ we hide behind and shining a light on the challenges within an ever evolving music industry.

Together we explore the impact of the music industry on artists' mental health. We explore; live performing, the creative process, promotion and social media pressures and how they experienced the world when COVID turned the music world upside down. However, it’s not all doom and gloom as we explore some of the amazing things that working in the music industry can protect our wellbeing and mental health and the benefits of expressing ourselves in the artistic form that is music.

UNMASKED is all about connection, through conversation and music alike. People say that music can save lives, and we want to shed light on this and celebrate the incredible blood, sweat and tears that go into being an artist in 2023.

CHAR is the co-founder of mental health non-profit Mad Millennials who are bringing you this show UNMASKED. Outside of MM she is the versatile Pop talent who sold out headlining the Camden Assembly LDN last year and just played Breaking Sounds in NYC to kick start 2023. Having gained enormous support from BBC Introducing, Track of the Week and a mash-up collaboration on the main account, with a Fred Again track.

CHAR provides dance floor catharsis, mixed with emotive pop. Her new dance remix of ‘Control (Jerzy Bulx Remix)’ out on 20th January on Lady Of The House is an escapist house dance track, which tells a powerful story of self reflection and inner-strength.

Past successes with dance producer 'Nathan X' and duo 'Wh0' on 'The Weekend', signed to New State Records, reached number 4 in the Dance Club Charts.
