In this episode, we feature more innovations from this year’s 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES): a new alternative to ease the sleep apnea diagnostics journey, a VR solution for improving vision with macular degeneration, a stadium-style sports experience for the vision-impaired, and a care platform that helps both care receivers AND their caregivers.
Recorded on February 22, 2024, this show featured the following guests in the order they presented:
Meagan R. Pitcher, Ph.D., CEO and Co-founder of Bairitone Health, makers of a sleep apnea diagnostics tool that eases the sometimes frustrating pathway to diagnosis. Bairitone offers a missing piece for diagnosing problems in the airway anatomy, a patch instead of sleep endoscopy, that with passive monitoring contributes to better outcomes. Finalist AgeTech Collaborative from AARP AgeTech After Dark Pitch Contest.
Neal Weinstock, CEO for Soliddd Corp, pioneers of a VR device offering a lighter and more seamless experience for those with macular degeneration. This first generation allows for “filling in areas of the vision field that are otherwise compromised.” Finalist and winner Audience Choice AgeTech Collaborative from AARP AgeTech After Dark Pitch Contest.
Jerred Mace, Co-founder, CEO, and Lead Designer at OneCourt, an innovation that makes live sports more accessible by translating live gameplay data into the spatial arena and giving users real-time experience through haptic vibrational intensity to help the viewer “see” and “feel” what's happening. Winner of CTA Foundation Eureka Park accessibility award.
Fritz Desir, Founder and CEO of Proxie Health, a user-friendly healthcare management platform for organizing, coordinating, and managing family’s care needs via centralized information, facilitated communications, and other tools to streamline and achieve important day-to-day tasks. Both predictive and proactive data to improve approaches to your own future health management – and that of your aging family members - will be beneficial to families going forward. Winner Judge and Audience Favorite, CTA Foundation Pitch Contest.
All great innovations from caring companies!
