"From Compassion to Action: Fighting Homelessness with Special Guest Sean Cononie, Homeless Advocate, Humanitarian, CEO & The Founder & Director of Multiple Homeless Shelters in Florida."

In this episode of the Social Psychic Radio Show, host Jason Zuk welcomes Special Guest Sean Cononie, a leading homeless advocate with over 40 years of dedicated service in Florida! Our talk delves into Sean’s extensive experience and challenges in running homeless shelters, facing legal battles, and advocating for the rights of homeless citizens. Sean shares his insights on the mental health crisis, societal responsibility, and the need for comprehensive support services.

The episode also introduces Sean's innovative initiatives, including the Mass Shooting Prevention Call Center or 'No Shoot' Hotline aimed at preventing mass shootings! 605-NO-SHOOT.

Sean's Bio:

Sean's journey began when he was just out of high school, feeding the homeless and realizing the precariousness of many Americans' situations-that most are just two paychecks away from homelessness. His encounter with a homeless man named John McCormick in 1997 led Sean to provide him with housing, inadvertently turning his efforts into a shelter overnight. Despite facing legal challenges from the city later on, Sean's shelter emerged victorious and continues to be the largest provider in the county. Furthermore, Sean's commitment extends beyond addressing homelessness. He operates the Mass Shooting Prevention Center Crisis hotline, working to provide assistance and support to individuals who may be at risk of committing such acts.

Join us as we explore Sean's remarkable journey, his unwavering dedication to helping the homeless, and his efforts to address pressing issues such as drug abuse and the misuse of pain clinics. We will also discuss his humanitarian work in other countries, including the aid he provided to Haiti after the devastating earthquakes.
