Today’s episode is for all those parents who are confused when it comes to handling their teenagers.

Let’s take a glimpse into the Teenage World: Teenagers face real concerns, between 13 and 19 years of age, on a daily basis as this is the most awkward growth stage of their lives. They struggle with self-esteem issues, body image issues, bullying, peer pressure, love problems, crushes, and that’s not one of the things we as parents are worried about. We lose our sleepover things like, “does my child do drugs, is he taking alcohol, is my girl dating someone, or what if she gets pregnant”

Relax, take a deep breath I feel you. And in today’s episode, I will be talking about the common problems that your teen might be facing. Our guests are from the USA- Kelly miller who is a positive psychology coach for years and a mother of two teenagers, and MaryKate Schutt who is a positive psychology practitioner, speaker, teacher and coach.

We spoke about:

  1. bullying and exclusion
  2. academics and perfectionism
  3. self-worth and status
  4. self-advocacy
  5. negative emotions and how to manage them
  6. Building positive family relationships with teenagers: tips like Family meals, Family outings, One-on-one time
  7. How to talk about difficult topics like drugs, sex, alcohol to teens
