Smash the subscribe button! Share with your friends and leave a review! In this 50th episode of Be Real, I vulnerably share with you how my greatest challenges as a kid, have become my greatest strengths as an adult.
Thank you so much for being on this journey with us to our 50th episode. My team and I wouldn’t have the strength and perseverance to continue on this three-year journey without you. Your messages, your DM’s, your reviews, your emails, have touched my heart and my team’s. And we thank you greatly from the bottom of our hearts for your loyalty.
In this episode, I will be open about the hardships I've been through which made me who I am today. In sixth grade, my brother and I were sent to a filthy and nasty boarding school in India, where I learned how to be resilient, responsible, independent, and a survivor.
Today, you’ll hear my reflection and some of my struggles, from starting and stopping, moving, starting two new businesses, and working to never let Be Real die. Let me tell you, there were times when the podcast literally was on the emergency room table with life support, but I got a message about how the episodes changed their lives, and that reminded me how I started my mission with Be Real. To impact 1,000,000 people.
So sit back, relax, go for a bike ride, and tune in for a real share from your host, Vikram Deol, on a milestone journey to episode 50. I would have never imagined the guests, the tears afterwards, the impact on myself and on others that this little show has had.
So please if you haven't already hit the subscribe button and left a review do so... so more rock stars like you have the opportunity to Be Real with themselves.
I also want to thank my team for working so hard, the late nights, early mornings to edit these episodes and get them out on all the different services for you.
Make sure you listen to these lessons:
01:42 - Looking back at our podcast journey and the resilience it took
04:20 - "I became an avid cyclist and have probably ridden 7000 miles since i've started biking 18 months ago. Reminds Vikram that we grow fast when we look back.
07:00 - Our family was somewhat at the verge of falling apart multiple times throughout these past three years but that’s what made us stronger today and has made me a better man.
16:07 - "Why am I being punished and stuck here in this school?", I asked myself while eating with maggots in my food
27:57 - The best $17 investment you could make as a CEO is this book…
Listen to the end for the book tip. It's worth the time.
