Dr. Karen: Michelle Albert, MD, MPH
Dr. Albert is the Walter A. Haas-Lucie Stern Endowed Chair in Cardiology and Professor in Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF), Admissions Dean for UCSF Medical School and Director of the CeNter for the StUdy of AdveRsiTy and CardiovascUlaR DiseasE (NURTURE Center). Dr. Albert is involved in cutting-edge research on the social determinants of health in cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Zanetta: Vivien Thomas, LL.D.
Dr. Vivien Thomas was a cardiac surgeon pioneer who developed a procedure used to treat blue baby syndrome (now known as cyanotic heart disease) in the 1940s.
Dr. Tiffany: Charles Drew, MD
Dr. Charles Richard Drew was a surgeon and researcher who organized America's first large-scale blood bank and trained a generation of Black physicians at Howard University.
