As we know the biggest food holiday days are here and so many people are dealing with weight gain from last season and are looking to avoid weight gain this season. Well, here are some tips that will you get started. Listen in!

Here are some tips on how to avoid weight gain during the holidays:

  • Stick to a routine. It's easy to get sidetracked during the holidays, but it's important to try to maintain your regular mealtimes and exercise schedule as much as possible.
  • Eat protein in the morning. A high-protein breakfast can help you feel fuller longer and may help you make healthier choices throughout the day.
  • Get adequate sleep. When you're well-rested, you're more likely to make healthy choices and have more energy to exercise.
  • Limit alcohol. Alcohol is high in calories and can lower your inhibitions, making you more likely to overeat.
  • Exercise early in the day. Working out first thing in the morning can help you burn calories and start your day off on the right foot.
  • Try a protein preload. Eating a small amount of protein before a meal can help you feel fuller and eat less overall.
  • Eat strategically. When you're at a holiday party or gathering, survey the food options before filling your plate. Choose healthier options, such as fruits, vegetables, and lean protein.
  • Don't deprive yourself. It's okay to indulge in your favorite holiday foods, but do so in moderation.
