Covid 19 has hit every industry with the force of a mack truck, driving at full speed, while holding a sledgehammer. And with no gatherings in public spaces, venues being shuttered and live shows being shelved, no side has been hit quite like the entertainment industry. How ironic that during these extra dark days, the very field we’d need to carry us through, just so happens to be the very field we can’t have. Desperate times damn near make standup comics like #DaveTemple damn near essential workers. With everything going on, he’s still finding innovative non-Netflix funded ways to bring the funny to anyone with the internet.
The flip side is that life goes on when the cameras go off. And for Dave, that couldn’t be more true. Relationships, parenting and people pleasing are all part of an average day. All the while making the kind of keen life observations that turn into the next set of one-liners. And that’s on top of spending his own money to self-produce his one-man stand up shows?
