Way back in episode 1 I mentioned that listeners could use the podcast to tell their own stories.
Some guests have done that and it would also be good for listeners, who want to share, to be able to. So, if you want to do that consider this episode an open invitation.
Sharing our stories is powerful and increases awareness. I believe raising awareness is a key to change. As Mike Bell described in episode 7, often politicians just aren’t aware of how bad a problem is until they see the details.
Some people have contacted me and they have a few barriers to sharing. For example, they don’t like public speaking or writing, they want privacy or they have court order constraints, fear of abuse, etc.
I want to make it as easy as possible for those who want to share by providing writers or narrators for free to help if you don't want to write or speak. You can even change names in a story for anonymity.
Alternatively, if you want to tell your story on your own or as a discussion with me that is fine too.
Raising awareness is the aim. If you don’t want to come on this podcast please consider sharing your story on other podcasts, blogs, Youtube, eBooks, social media, etc. There has never been an easier time for people to publish their stories.
Raising awareness helps those in positions of authority to become aware of how bad things are and how badly change is needed. It also helps others going through the same as us or just starting the journey. Hearing how others coped can provide strength, strategy or just the feeling they are not alone, which is really important.
