Matthew 3:8 “Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God”
As John points out in this verse by saying “Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God”
What actions or changes are we taking after realizing that the way we think is separating us from God more and more. Because if you and I have repented of our sins…our lives must look different than before. Our desires change, the things we do change, the words we say change. Because as we discussed before the word repent is “changing how you think or look at things” a transformation of thought”
Let me give you some examples to make this point clear.
Example #1 - Pornography - Lets say you are a male that casually watches pornography, and you believe that it’s totally ok for you to do that. Because everyone does it, and it’s legal, and you are not harming anyone according to society. When you repent, your mind clearly sees how watching pornography is wrong for many reasons. So then you embark on a journey to stop that terrible habit. That’s one way you prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.
