If you’re an e-commerce business and sell many different products, analyzing the performance of each product can help determine what to offer in the future. Or for example, if you’re in financial services and find that most of your previous clients have been small to mid-sized businesses with a certain amount of revenue generated per year, then you may not want to look for clients with small businesses they’ve just started.\n\nBy setting specific benchmarks or goals, you can analyze how well your business does in reaching those goals, and what factors help you succeed or lead to falling short of them. If you see a spike in sales, figure out what caused that spike and do it again. Similarly, if you see a dip in sales, figure out why that’s the case and avoid making the same mistakes in the future.\n\nTools such as Google Trends can help you plan more targeted campaigns that are on track with what keywords people are searching for.
