Ahoy there, surfers and beachgoers! Ready to catch some waves and soak up the sun? Well, here's your surf zone forecast for the California coast, brought to you by the National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard.
First stop, Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches! Today, we've got a moderate rip current risk, with surf heights ranging from 2 to 4 feet. No thunderstorms expected, and water temperatures are between 59 to 68 degrees. Keep an eye on those tides, and expect a mix of west and southwest swell. Tomorrow, similar conditions with a mix of south and west swell.
Ventura County Beaches are looking similar with a moderate rip current risk and 2 to 4 feet surf heights. Water temperatures ranging from 63 to 65 degrees. Tides will play around the coast, and a mix of west and south swell will keep things interesting. Tomorrow, expect more of the west swell.
Heading to Santa Barbara County, the southwestern and southeastern coasts offer low rip current risks with smaller surf heights of 1 to 3 feet. Water temps are cooler at 61 to 63 degrees. Tides will be fluctuating throughout the day, and a west swell is anticipated. Tomorrow, more of the same with west swell dominating the coast.
Lastly, San Luis Obispo County and Santa Barbara Central Coast Beaches have larger surf heights today, ranging from 4 to 7 feet. No thunderstorms expected, but water temps are cooler at 52 to 54 degrees. Tides will be shifting, so keep an eye out. A west swell is rolling in. Tomorrow, surf heights will decrease slightly to 3 to 6 feet with more west swell coming your way.
