What a cracker we have for you this month as Phil welcomed three more wonderful humans from the IOH membership to chat through a topic that, as Phil puts it, should be on everyone’s mind, Wellbeing in the kitchen.

Phils guests this month were Alex Preston AIH, Amy Stoyel MIH and returning guest Ben Purton FIH who have all had their own experiences from within the kitchen

This was a lively chat from the outset with no punches being pulled and our guests covered: -

  • The past
  • Old School badges of honour
  • Top-Down leadership
  • Setting Framework and what that looks like
  • The importance of culture
  • The external impact of getting it wrong
  • Finding a balance
  • Contracts
  • The Business owner’s perspective and the example they set
  • Separating profit and people
  • The impact of cost of living
  • Reaching out to those doing great work
  • Utilising Glassdoor
  • How the IOH and its membership can play its part

And so much more.

Our guests also gave us their reasons for saying I’m in to the IOH in the first place which included: -

  • The positive impact on their career
  • Access to mentorship
  • To be surrounded by people who help, support and develop others
  • The opportunity to give back
  • To play a part in positive change
  • There is something for everyone within membership

This chat was epic and we barely scratched the surface of what is a vast and ever evolving topic leaving room, we’re sure, for a follow up chat down the line.

Enjoy!
