Picky eating, also known as selective eating, refers to a behavior characterized by the reluctance to try or consume certain types of food. It is a common phenomenon among children and adults alike, and has been a topic of concern and curiosity for generations.

While some individuals may find delight in a wide variety of flavors and textures, others develop an aversion to certain foods, limiting their dietary preferences significantly. Those affected may exhibit a strong preference for specific flavors, textures, or colors, often leading to a limited and repetitive diet.

Although it is a common occurrence during childhood, picky eating can persist into adolescence and adulthood, causing concern among parents, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.

Join host Dina Sargeant in this enlightening episode as she welcomes Cynthia Andriani, a working-studying mom and wife, who is also passionate about food research, science, kids, people, and social issues, especially malnutrition. Cynthia is currently studying Physics as an industrial Ph.D. student at the University of Auckland-New Zealand.

During the episode, Cynthia emphasized picky eating. So get ready for a conversation that combines expert knowledge, personal experiences, and invaluable insights, guiding you toward embracing self-compassion as an essential aspect of mindful parenting.
