In part three of their five-part conversation, Dr. Debra Dyer, MD, and Dr. Mike Gieske, MD, focus on stigma from a health care professional’s point of view. The conversation also covers how to overcome negative feelings about patients actively using tobacco and how to address lung cancer screening in your practice with individuals who may not feel comfortable with the conversation.
As part of National Lung Cancer Awareness Month 2020, Dr. Debra Dyer, MD, Chair of the ACR’s Lung Cancer Screening Steering Committee, had a series of conversations with stakeholders across the healthcare spectrum about myths in lung screening in the limited series “Mythbusting Lung Cancer Screening.”
Dr. Mike Gieske has been a primary care physician at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, KY since 1987. In addition to his daily practice, Dr. Gieske is the lead physician at his site in Ft. Mitchell, KY, and serves as East Division Physician Director of Primary Care.
