Psychodynamic clinical supervision is a type of supervision that focuses on the unconscious dynamics of the therapeutic relationship. It is based on the idea that the therapist's own thoughts, feelings, and experiences can have a significant impact on the client's progress. At times, professionalism, a set of standards and norms expected of the therapists, may be brought up in the context of the therapist’s identity during supervision. The potential problem with professionalism, is that it can harm and hinder the growth of minoritized therapists and therapists of color.

In this podcast episode, we speak with Dr. Natalia Báez-Powell, a Latinx psychologist in private practice trained in psychodynamic therapies and published in the area of supervision and training.
