Manage episode 309949970 series 3043966
Hey everybody! We hope you are doing well this Monday morning! It’s still a bit hot here in Nashville - who’s ready for fall?! Do you remember Courtney’s brother Andy from Ep. 82 - Grown Siblings & Sibling Rivalry? Happy birthday (yesterday) to him! 🎉
Anyway, we cannot tell you how much we lovvvvved the book we are discussing today! This was FOR SURE in our top three books and we will continue to reference back because of how much we learned. If you didn’t get a chance to read The Whole-brain Child by Dr. Dan Siegel and Dr. Tina Payne Bryson along with us for this book club, please, please still go get this book!
We loved discussing what we learned and what stuck with us the most. We could have definitely kept talking about it and we can’t wait to get our hands on more of their books. We mentioned No Drama Discipline and The Yes Brain, both by Dr. Dan Siegel and Dr. Tina Payne Bryson. Maybe future book club books? Courtney also found this video of Dr. Siegel explaining the brain. We seriously can’t get enough - we learned so much! We hope you read along with us, and please let us know what you thought!
And for a fun and bonus video (we didn’t even talk about this on the podcast!), check out this video - it literally puts the wiring and re-wiring of the brain to the test!
From our “I’m Totally Into…” segment:
Courtney is totally into Joe’s New Balance Outlet - how great is this?
Jennifer (and Penelope) are totally into Wonder Nation Girls’ Athletic Holographic High Top Sneaker - these are THE BEST and even cuter in person!
And click this link to get started on the next book for our book club! You have 8 weeks to read Invited: The Power of Hospitality in an Age of Loneliness by Leslie Verner - we are excited about this one! Have a great week, mamas!!
