Growing up, Grant was always seen as the happy kid. As an adult, and following periods of depression and then being hospitalised in a mental health ward for a manic episode, Grant was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Grant’s lived experience and learnt coping strategies, led him to become the founder of One Wave Is All It Takes, a global community which raises awareness for mental health through wearing fluro, surfing and salt water therapy, as well as creating a safe space to talk and support each other. In this interview Grant shares so many gems about mental health and I’m so thankful for the work that he is doing within this space.
