Stephanie Almonte, Speech Therapist, discusses how Social Pragmatic Communication Disorder (SCD) is characterized by challenges in social communication across a variety of settings in the past Covid world. The increase of patients experiencing social dysfunction that may manifest as an inablility to return to the office, anxiety around social settings, anxieties, around non-verbal communication and contextual understanding.
Our conversation addresses the anxieties parents have, how the constant use of technology prevents students from socially interacting, and how we are all a but neuro-spicy.
