One of the deficits of autism is difficulty in communication. 40% of children with autism are nonverbal. They use an AAC device to communicate. AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative Communication. It is used by individuals who cannot communicate with an oral speech to express their wants, needs, thoughts and emotions.
