Chris is an award-winning New Zealand film and television director. Highly technical, he is exceptional at getting great performances from both unknown new actors to international A-listers.

Of his two major feature films, his acclaimed rom-com ‘Sione’s Wedding’ is New Zealand’s 6th highest grossing movie ever. he followed that with psychological horror film, ‘The Ferryman’, and then co-directed the film, ‘Born to Dance’ starring Stan Walker and collaborating with Parris Goebal.

Chris is also one of New Zealand’s most awarded music video directors,

working with major artists across a prolific 15 years. Winning 3 NZMA awards for Scribe, Dei Hamo, Smashproof, as well as shooting music videos in both Samoa and LA for Savage.

More recently, Chris has been directing 12 episodes of ‘Power Rangers’ for Netflix, and the final 2 episodes of ‘The Panthers’ for TVNZ. He then turned to longform documentaries, directing ‘Kia Ora, good evening’ with Mike McRoberts for TV3, and then ‘Scribe, the return of the Crusader’ for TVNZ+, for which he won best factual director at the NZTV awards, 2022.

Having lived and worked in New York, London, Los Angeles and Auckland, Chris is a global multi-genre director with a back catalogue of filmmaking spanning 30 years. He is a rare local director, who spans across all genres and disciplines, embracing the challenge of each.
