A Journey of Food, Family and Leadership
Manage episode 383495325 series 3522276
Fil Ip, Restaurateur/Owner of Golden Marquess and Baoshi, a new Asian food hall in South Florida, joins Access Your Leadership to share some details about his family’s background and journey into the restaurant industry, his transition from corporate to restaurant ownership, personal challenges he and his wife had to overcome after the loss of their first daughter, and how he’s managed to be a devoted husband and father while expanding his family business. Fil owns and operates six restaurants locations in South Florida with a new Asian food hall opening up at the end of 2023. In our conversation we talk about expectations and pressures of family and culture as we made his decision to leave his corporate job as a chemical engineer and help lead the family business. What was the conversation like with himself and his family when we decided to make the switch? How does he juggle the responsibility of numerous expanding locations with his family life? How does someone manage themselves, their family and business through personal tragedy and still strive towards success? What does it take to be a leader who creates a positive impact on the world?
