K-pop now has virtual girl bands! With the rise of digital avatars and the increasing popularity of online performances, K-pop is pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a pop star in the digital age. At 01:19, we take a closer look at the rise of these virtual girl bands and the impact they are having on the music industry. Next, we turn our attention to Adobe and their latest innovation - an AI image generator. At 10:03, we explore how this tool is revolutionizing the way designers create and edit images. Using machine learning algorithms, the software can generate new images based on the user's input, making the design process faster and more efficient than ever before. Finally, we look at Google's plans to add generative AI to their suite of productivity tools. At 17:57, we discuss how this technology could revolutionize the way we work, from creating more personalized email responses to automating the creation of presentations and documents. With the power of AI at our fingertips, the possibilities for innovation are endless.

17:57 - Google Looks to Add Generative AI to Gmail, Docs, Slides and More

Summary:

Eternity is a K-pop girl group whose members are all virtual characters created using AI technology by deep learning tech company Pulse9. The advantages of using virtual artists include avoiding physical and mental limitations that often affect human beings. K-pop stars are increasingly looking to AI, deepfake, and avatar technologies to expand their reach, and virtual bands can be controlled by their creators, avoiding scandal and minimizing risk. K-pop has faced various social issues such as online trolling, cyberbullying, extreme dieting, and mental health, leading to the tragic deaths of some young K-pop stars, highlighting the need to minimize risk to the industry's performers.

Adobe has launched its own AI image generator called Adobe Firefly, which includes a "family of creative generative AI models" that will be integrated with the suite of Adobe's creative apps. The first two tools that will be released with Adobe Firefly include a tool that creates images based on user prompts and another tool that generates stylized text. Adobe's system is trained on data that is either out of copyright, licensed for training or in the Adobe Stock library, and it plans to pay artists who contribute training data. Adobe is hoping to make its AI tools easier to use than its competitors' by including built-in options for art styles, lighting and aspect ratio, which can be applied to an image that's already generated. Adobe also plans to add AI-generated outpainting to Photoshop, vector variations on hand-drawn sketches to Illustrator, and image restyling with just an image prompt to Premiere.

Google is adding generative AI elements to its Workspace suite of tools, including Gmail, Docs, Slides, and Sheets. These AI features will help users with tasks such as composing emails, summarizing conversations, and generating writing prompts. Google's new AI models will also enable developers to build upon the company's advanced AI tools for more applications. Initially hesitant to adopt generative AI due to reputational risk, Google has been forced to act due to the success of other AI-infused tools. The company will launch its new AI experiences this month via its trusted tester program, beginning with English language users in the United States.
