Good morning, weather watchers! I'm your meteorologist with the latest forecast for Washington District of Columbia.
We're in for a wet and wild weekend, so grab those umbrellas and rain jackets! Tonight, expect rain with temperatures dipping to around 39 degrees. It's going to be a soggy overnight situation with just a tiny bit of precipitation.
Saturday brings more rainfall, with temperatures climbing to a mild 51 degrees. The winds will be calm but will shift to a southerly breeze around 6 miles per hour in the afternoon. We're looking at a 90 percent chance of rain, with up to half an inch possible.
Sunday is going to be a real soaker! Temperatures will spike to a surprisingly warm 65 degrees with southeast winds between 7 to 14 miles per hour. Expect gusts up to 25 miles per hour and near-constant showers throughout the day.
As we roll into the new week, Monday looks like a bit of a break with mostly sunny skies and temperatures near 58 degrees. Tuesday brings another chance of rain, and New Year's Day will be partly sunny with temperatures around 50 degrees.
The latter part of the week looks cooler, with mostly sunny conditions and temperatures hovering in the high 30s to low 40s.
