December 5 2019 Hey Vikes! the holiday season is coming up and that means it's time for a holiday movie night! ticket sales start December 9th in the cafeteria and last the entire week! They're $1 so get yours before they sell out The GSA is happy to announce another inclusion project for our school on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community. On Wednesday, December 11th at lunch time in the auditorium the GSA will be showing the CBC documentary Disrupter Conductor featuring one of our past and loved teachers, Mr. Batholemew-Poser. The documentary is about his own journey as a human and also his collaboration project between the classical music and drag-queen communities. The entry fee of $1-2 will go to WCI's Pride Week. Hey vikes! Holidays are for Helping has officially started! Please remember to bring in your change for the New Toys for Needy Kids campaign and any toiletries or other items for Monica Place. We can’t wait to see how much we can raise this year! Finally! ... the time is here for the Entrepreneurial Challenge! Leave your lunch at home on Friday Dec 6 and come down to the cafeteria to buy some delicious food and support these entrepreneurs! We'll have 20 tables set up with a wide variety of items. Keep an eye out for posters around the school for all the amazing food that will be on sale. Remember ... that's this Friday! "There is a looming deadline for the GRADE 12 HISTORY NEW YORK TRIP. If you would like to go to New York City in the Spring, have your forms in to Mr. Vander Meulen by Monday, December 16. Need a form for the New York Trip? See Mr. Vander Meulen and be sure to meet the December 16 deadline. " Congratulations to the Weeks Athletes of the Week! Lauren A. is a grade 9 on the varsity girls hockey team. In Monday's game against Bluevale, Lauren scored the game winning goal, leading the girls to a 4-3 victory. Tomison is a grade twelve athlete on the Sr boys basketball. His sharp skills and amazing shot lead him the being a second team all star in one of the biggest tournament in the province. Congrats to Lauren and Tomison! Would you like to make a seasonal card and matching box? This activity is open to all school members, students and staff. Tuesday at lunch, Dec 10 and Tuesday Dec 17th. Pictures have been uploaded. The activity is free but you need to bring some supplies. Bring your own glue, card stock (2 pieces, full sheets) and patterned paper (1 piece full size), coordinating twine or ribbon (optional). This could just as easily be a birthday set. We will meet in Rm 218 and move if we need more space. Attention all Chromebook users: On the morning of Friday December 6, 2019, a new Chromebook security policy will be implemented to help protect all WRDSB G Suite accounts. When working on a Chromebook, closing the lid of the device while you are logged in will cause the Chromebook to automatically lock the screen and force you to input your password once the lid is reopened.
