Manage episode 374940018 series 3478357
On this episode, host Tony Nunes is joined by Donna Frustere, local artist and printmaker. Donna talks about her journey west (thanks John Denver), her calling to become an art teacher (Immaculately Conceived in Catholic School during 3rd grade with Sister Marie Claire), the joy of returning home to Westerly every summer, and the history and importance of printmaking.
The UNITED will be debuting the Printmakers' Network of Southern New England's exhibit the "Pearls Portfolio," from September 28th to November 13th in celebration of the group's thirtieth anniversary as an organization.
Voices of Westerly is a United Theatre podcast, where Tony Nunes, the Artistic Director of The United Theatre, hosts conversations, most recorded in front of a live audience, with the creative and professional individuals who make Westerly RI such a unique and inspired community of leaders, innovators, and artists.
The “Voices of Westerly” series is inspired by Westerly photographer/artist Josh Behan’s “Faces of Westerly” portrait series - which is on permanent display and rotation here at the UNITED. “Voices of Westerly” live discussions will take place monthly in the “Post-Credits Scene” gallery and events space at the UNITED.
