Join us for this breakout session where County Councillor Charlie Edwards (Transport for the North Vice-Chair, Lancashire County Council), Emma Antrobus (Institution of Civil Engineers), Sir Roger Marsh OBE (NP11), Iain Craven (TfN) and Laura Collins (Yorkshire Evening Post) discuss how we can fund the transport projects that the North needs to level up. We analyse how we can close regional divides through political and financial devolution, and hear how Transport for the North is providing expert support on building stronger business cases for infrastructure projects across the region. Finally, we hear about the wider benefits of transport investment in the North and the benefit of longer-term funding settlements, to ensure that industry can plan ahead and our local authorities can reduce the resources required for funding competitions. You can read more about Transport for the North’s Northern Transport Charter here, which explains how we will deliver on our Strategic Transport Plan to create a New North: https://transportforthenorth.com/our-north/northern-transport-charter/ The episode was recorded on 20 September 2021.
