Chicago's going to send automated tickets to bus lane violators. APTA went to the White House to solve the bus crisis. And the FTA is offering 1 billion in grants for American transit vehicle manufacturing. Welcome to your Transit Unplugged News Minute. In Chicago, a new program will send automated tickets to people violating bike and bus lanes.

The Smart Streets program plans to go into pilot mode this summer, where cameras will enforce parking violations. Last week, the American Public Transportation Association participated in the White House Roundtable for Clean Bus Manufacturing. APTA's task force presented suggestions to create a more competitive and stable domestic bus manufacturing industry.

And in related news, the U. S. Federal Transit Administration announced 1. 5 billion in grants to support American transit vehicle manufacturing. This is the third bus grant package since the bipartisan infrastructure law was signed. The application period is now open.
