“Most businesses associate the Conservatives with a free market doctrine, but that has been seriously challenged by the Conservative manifesto advocating an energy price cap”, says Simon French, Chief Economist at Panmure Gordon.

So will the business leaders stand behind the Conservatives tomorrow? French says the voters have a poor choice. It is essentially a battle between lower spending, lower taxes (Conservatives) vs. higher spending, higher taxes (Labour).
