It is a magnificent summer's day on shamba and the animals are enjoying the sun. Darius the deer is excited because his young niece Phoebe the fawn is hiding in the neighbouring field. He tells Mitzi the young sheep who is alarmed that such a young animal should be left alone by its mother. The arrival of four visitors endangers Phoebe the fawn but thanks to the sheep, chickens and dogs she has a lucky escape.
