Welcome back to the TEFLology Podcast!

Sulaiman Jenkins is an academic scholar and a researcher in the field of applied linguistics. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, and having received his MA in TESOL from NYU, he has been teaching as an English lecturer in Saudi Arabia for over 16 years, holding a number of administrative positions. He has written articles in top tier publications and his research interests concern race, identity, and language. He has also recently written the book “Life is ЯAW” - a biographical memoir of Mutah Beale’s life, a former member of the rap group Outlawz. He is currently a Course Coordinator and English Lecturer for King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and is pursuing doctoral studies on the issue of native speakerism.

In this interview, recorded remotely, Rob asked questions to Sulaiman about native-speakerism, cultural chauvinism, and other related topics.
