My guest today, Kim Strobel, has a mission: empower teachers to take control of their joy and happiness. Her new book has those two words in the title, Teach Happy: Small Steps to Big Joy. She says that happiness and joy are not the same, and they aren't always present at the same time. Elijah Carbajal is a teacher who followed in the footsteps of teachers in his family. He has served as an educator in the state of New Mexico since 2014. He is passionate about growing students and teachers and has fulfilled this purpose through different roles. Elijah has experience as an elementary classroom teacher and a Title I reading interventionist, and he is currently an MLSS/MTSS Resource Teacher in his local school district. Along with being the host of The Shut Up and Teach Podcast, he is the author of the book A Place They Love. Elijah loves to spend time with his wife, Tracey, and his cat, Nala.
