In season nine episode 7 of WPPI, Gary Martin and David Parish interview photographer Isaac Alvarez. Isaac shares his experiences and insights on the importance of personal projects and how they can help photographers attract new clients. Alvarez stresses that personal work is crucial for photographers to showcase their unique style and vision and attract new clients who appreciate their work. The conversation then turns to Alvarez's unique style of portraiture, which features more darkness and shadow than light. He explains that he gravitates towards this style because of the mystery and emotion that it conveys. He uses darkness to add an element of intrigue and pull in the viewer, creating a sense of wonder and curiosity. Alvarez also talks about a pet photography project where he put the heads of the pets on their owner's bodies, which became another viral hit.
