34. Why is it that modern culture is so obsessed with looking and acting younger? We're botoxing, tightening, lightening, and getting all sorts of sketchy anti-aging treatments to avoid what is inevitable: growing (and looking) older.
I believe that growing older can become a magical experience, where we are endowed with wisdom we could not get any other way. Why are we telling it to f*** off? When we stop obsessing over how we look and how society tells us we are supposed to look, we are free to embody the human we are meant to become. Nobody is going to care what we looked like when we turn 99 and have lived a full life!
In this episode, we discuss:

  • How "the beauty myth" can affect us at all ages
  • Approaching anti-aging from a healthy perspective
  • Understanding our motivations for why we do what we do
  • Becoming wiser with age takes time and cannot be rushed
  • Culture in Hawai'i with elders, respect, and surfing in their 80s!
  • Living our days with intention, so every year builds on the one prior
  • Going deeper in our relationships with our friends and family

...and more!
