David McNamara - From Culinary Delights To Human Rights
Manage episode 365407263 series 3449468
David McNamara is the CEO of one of the world's oldest food relief charities, Foodbank.
He is one of the most humble and generous people you will ever meet, and in this episode he talks about how he, as a young IT professional ends up at the helm of an organisation, which is feeding 50,000 people every day
David's message is clear.
Solving food insecurity for vulnerable Australians isn't just about full tummies, it's about using data to ensure the right food, is getting to the right people, at the right time.
It's about culture, and education, and understanding how important the role food plays in our lives for both physical and mental health, and socially.
This episode will make you think, and so it should, as there is always something we can do to to help our communities, especially in these tough economic times.
