024. Conducting the Choir: Sometimes, Less is More
Manage episode 289028378 series 2793803
Have you ever thought while conducting your choir, "If I do more, my conducting will be more expressive and more effective"? That's often how we as conductors approach our conducting style when in front of our choirs. But an excellent session from the recent ACDA virtual conference shared a different perspective. On today's episode of the podcast, I discuss conducting the choir and how sometimes, less is more! I hope this episode gives you some things to think about, as well as that little nudge (if you need it!) to explore some new ideas with your conducting gesture.
I’d love to hear from you--what’s something in your conducting that you are working on? Are there ways that doing less has made your conducting more effective? Send me an email at: Matt@ChoirDirectorCorner.com and let me know!
