Welcome back to The Blurred Line podcast!

This week we have my good friend, Frank Shintaro McMullin. Me and Frank both intern together at the Embassy of Afghanistan in Minato, Tokyo. He's a Japanese-American born and raised in California. Frank has visited Japan every year since he was a child, however, for the first time he's getting to live abroad in Tokyo and explore his Japanese roots. We go on to talk about a variety of subjects ranging from experiencing his Asian roots in America to his memories of visiting Japan as a child raised in a strict Buddhist sect. Among other things, we covered the difference between racism in Japan vs racism in America, textbook controversies within Japan, and Studio Ghibli vs the (superior) Disney.

Thanks for listening guys! I improved on the camera angle thankfully and we didn't get cut off mid-conversation from a dead camera battery haha. Added a little intro at the beginning I may or may not keep. Working on getting a second mic soon for sure. I've still got a bunch of other things to work on to make this more legitimate, but improving ever slowly!

Next episode we have my buddy, Ken-sama! He's half Thai, half Japanese and will choke you in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!
