Men in 2018 lately have raised concern as what they address as male bashing with quotes such as “Niggas ain’t shit!” and “Men are Trash” has reoccurring not only in today’s social media feeds but in their everyday interaction. Although #MeToo has helped raise awareness, call out the men who need to held accountable while encouraging women who were afraid to come forward, it seems it has stirred more fuel to a tribalistic environment amongst the sexes of all cultures in America. Some how out of good intentions as well as for suspected personal agendas have both mesh into what appears as an environment that perpetrators in question are solely men and should be presumed guilty if accused instead of innocent until proven guilty. The impunity of misogynistic behavior that women had been enduring since patriarchy’s existence has been pushed to an extreme as if every man has is guilty of participating and rationalizing misogynistic behavior that leads to these abhorrent cases of sexual violence towards women. More in important there seems to be a compartmentalized view of putting black men as a demonizing figure not to their female counterparts but to the rest of the world when data shows otherwise.
