Manage episode 341247747 series 3132833
The world's largest elections are managed by the Election Commission of India. Typically, the Government of India is known for it's bureaucratic hurdles and slow process, but the ECI stands out in innovation. I'm joined by Dr. Kushal Pathak, the Chief Information Office and Director of Information Technology of the ECI, as he explains in-depth of the incredible work that the Election Commission of India has undertaken to make elections easier for the electorate as well as safer and efficient. At a time when the ECI has suffered a credibility issue, it seems the commission has been working to ensure that India's voters and candidates have a free and fair election process, with the help of technology.
Some interesting topics we cover: did you know you can now monitor your booth and how busy it is by the ECI's booth app; how the ECI is looking into mobile voting; that the ECI has over 10 mobile applications to ensure a free, fair and accessible election process; and so much more!
