In 1917, two English girls, Elsie Wright and Francis Griffiths, claimed to have met a band of fairies while playing near a brook...and they had pictures to prove it! Even Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes, wanted to believe the pictures were real.
